On the way to Chicago we had another layover in Detroit. I fell asleep before the flight took off and woke up as the captain announced that we were turning around to land back at Detroit because someone in the back smelled something burning. nice. We were a few hours late getting into Chicago since we had to wait for our a new plane.
The time in Chicago was very informative. I learned a lot about the city's history and we went to a few museums. One thing we learned was that you have to make dinner reservations. We had such a hard time finding a place to eat in the magnificent mile/loop area. Restaurants had a 1-2 hour wait from 5pm to 10pm. It was like every restaurant had Cheesecake Factory lines.
We also learned that Chicago has more than one airport... that sucked.
